Synopsis

Second-year high school student Tokio Kurohara likes to slack off in class. However, despite his attitude at school, he works alongside his childhood friend Azuma Higashi to combat the brewing injustice in their town. In contrast to Tokio, Azuma is physically capable and rarely struggles against the common thugs the pair regularly encounter.

Yet, there are fights that even Azuma will not pick. Choujins—supernatural beings with powers beyond mere mortals—are entities that Tokio and Azuma avoid at all costs. One day, when a previously defeated thug returns to exact revenge, the two are forced into a scuffle. Unable to flee from their foe, the duo injects themselves with a drug that can turn someone into a Choujin.

While the dose seemingly has no physical effect on Azuma, Tokio grows a beak. In fear of being seen, Tokio must now figure out how to hide his new identity as a Choujin. But it seems that there are people out there who are angry at Tokio and Azuma's use of the Choujin drug, and they do not seem to want to stay quiet about it.

Choujin X has been simulpub digitally in English through MANGA Plus. The volumes have been published by VIZ Media under the VIZ Signature imprint since February 21, 2023. It has also been released in Polish by Waneko since February 1, 2023; and in Italian by J-POP since March 1, 2023.

Coming from tokyo ghoul author it so much different from his previous series!it feel refreshing~

It not just any superhero story... conflict between the two factions it not black and white, they fight for what they believe is right... Every characters is so great you gonna have hard times choice your sides! I love three protagonis and love the villains too.

It less edgy and sometimes goofy and can become dark really fast too, it so much fun because lot time you try guessing what gonna happen next and Ishida-sensei really is unpredictable.

Lot improved from author previous series such paneling and fight scene now easy to read ...

Absolutely amazing work from someone who had never read any of Ishida's previous works, he manages to make such a relatable main character to a gay neet loser idiot (ME!!!), so it really helps when Ishida also writes amazing gay angsty romance (ME!!!), and provides an interesting power system alongside it to keep the reader invested in the fights. The Sinker Choujin Arc was great, however the true best arc so far has been the Moon Beast arc. Azuma and Tokio's relationship is so painfully beautiful and tragic that it tears away at the readers heartstrings, yet also asks the question of whether it's selfish ...
